Serge Ibaka Says Goodbye To "Second To None" Raptors Fans In Heartbreaking Tweets

Okay, fine, we're tearing up. 😢
Staff Writer

It seems as though Raptors fans aren't the only ones feeling a little wistful and sad today.

Serge Ibaka has reportedly signed a two-year deal worth $19 million with the L.A. Clippers, but he shared his love for the Raptors in a tearjerker of a Twitter thread.

"Thank you Toronto. Thank you, Canada. And thank you, Raptors," Ibaka tweeted. "I am one of yours forever."

Editor's Choice: Lines In Toronto Are Absolutely Wild Right Now As The City Prepares For Monday's Lockdown

I feel really blessed to have played for this city, these fans, and this organization. Serge Ibaka

Ibaka wrote that he would never forget the love he received during his time as a Raptor, both from the organization itself and the fanbase.

His sweet words were well received but not surprising, as Ibaka has long proven himself to be one of the Raptors' most personable and charming players.

Fans across the globe tweeted their sadness at the news and shared their favourite memories of the player.

Free Agency wasn't all bad for Raptors fans, as the team did re-sign Fred VanVleet to a hefty four-year contract.

But Ibaka will no doubt leave a giant, scarf-shaped hole in the hearts of thousands of Raptors fans.
