Toronto is about to get seriously shaken and stirred. The World Class Global Bartending Competition — aka the biggest bartending showdown on the planet — is landing in the city for its grand finale at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel from September 28 to October 2.
And because one epic event isn't enough, there's also a full-on World Class Cocktail Festival happening at venues across the city from September 25 to October 2.
Your favourite local bars will be taken over by world-class bartenders from a variety of countries, serving up one-of-a-kind creations, pop-ups and unforgettable collabs you won't find anywhere else.
Two ticketed events are also on the lineup: Ketel One: After Dark, which brings together talented Toronto baristas and some of the world's most talented bartenders to create the ultimate Espresso Martini cocktails at Dineen Coffee Co. from September 27 to October 1, and the Don Julio 1942 Mini Bar at NOBU, where guests are invited to indulge in an exclusive speakeasy experience. At the Don Julio 1942 Mini Bar Speakeasy, guests can enjoy cocktails crafted by Mexico's World Class winner, Israel Baron, alongside gourmet appetizers from NOBU.
At this week-long toast to creativity, community and craft, you can expect drinks mixed with legendary spirits like Johnnie Walker whisky, Tanqueray No. TEN gin, Ketel One vodka and Don Julio tequila, all pushed to new limits.
Whether you're a die-hard cocktail lover or just looking for a fun excuse to hit the town, this is your chance to experience the best bartenders in the world without leaving Toronto.
