One of Toronto's busiest malls has announced a confirmed COVID-19 case within one of its stores. The Uniqlo location in Toronto Eaton Centre told Cadillac Fairview about the situation, and an internal memo was sent to all of its clients.

CBC News reports that Cadillac Fairview said that the store acted responsibly and notified both the Eaton Centre and the mall's parent company immediately.

According to CBC, Uniqlo put out its own statement, saying that "at this time all employees are taking the necessary steps of social distancing and taking other precautions so that we do not spread this virus anymore."

A deep cleaning of Uniqlo has taken place, along with all high-touch areas of the Eaton Centre, Cadillac Fairview wrote.

"We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely and will continue to provide updates as they are received," read Uniqlo's statement.
