In response to reports that Joe Biden is the new president of the United States, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has shared a congratulatory message and photo of the two of them together.

After sharing his well-wishes in an official statement and via Twitter, Trudeau also took to Instagram to share a photo and a message.

The image shows the two leaders walking side by side and both appear to be laughing.

As a caption to the image, Trudeau congratulated both Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Noting that Canada and the U.S. are “friends, partners and allies,” he expressed his excitement about working together in the future.

Trudeau wasn’t the only Canadian politician to share his well-wishes with the two new leaders.

Jagmeet Singh responded to the news by quoting former NDP leader Jack Layton, while Alberta Premier Jason Kenney got straight down to business.

Canada’s Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland also congratulated Joe Biden and shared the sweetest message with VP Harris.
