This US Christmas town is just a road trip away from Vancouver, perfect to escape and get into the holiday spirit.

Bellevue transforms during the festive months, creating a small-town Hallmark vibe with their nightly holiday parade, and garden full of Christmas magic.

Bellevue is a city right outside of Seattle, about three hours away from Vancouver, and the holidays are the time for a visit. It's famed for this time of year thanks to the Snowflake Lane Parade, which is an enchanting nightly event along Bellevue Way that runs throughout December.

Starting on November 29 and running until December 24 the street comes alive every night at 7 p.m., with dancers, floats, drummers, and all the twinkling lights you could hop for. There's even falling snow that will transport you into a Hallmark flick as you wander down the street and watch the festivities.

The free parade is just one part of the Christmas cheer here though.

Garden d'Lights is a beautiful botanical garden here with over half a million sparkingly bulbs, creating beautiful light installations. You can walk through the glowing garden at night a feel all of the magical holiday vibes come to life.

If you want a little bit of an escape from Vancouver then head across the border here. If you really want to make a festive trip out of it stop at some of the other adorable towns in Washinton, like Leavenworth, that go all-out for the wintry months.
