You Can Now Link Your Starbucks Rewards and Aeroplan Account to Earn More Points

Pour on the points!
Sponsored Content Contributing Writer, Studio

With regular life on hold for the time being, a trip to Starbucks is a small sliver of normality in what has been a whirlwind of a year.

Picking up your first coffee of the day is one of those morning rituals that help you forget that we are living through unprecedented times, even if it's just for a moment. Luckily, companies like Starbucks are working extra hard to create a safe environment so that we can all enjoy some of the simple pleasures that bring a touch of comfort to our daily routine.

Not to mention that walking into a coffee shop feels like you've accomplished something that day outside of your regular work-from-home routine.

To make that Starbucks trip even more worthwhile, two of the country’s most recognized rewards programs — Starbucks Rewards and Aeroplan — have joined forces so customers can now earn extra rewards when ordering their favourite Starbucks beverage or food item!

All you have to do is link your Starbucks Rewards account with an Aeroplan account to earn Aeroplan points, in addition to Starbucks Stars, on eligible purchases at participating locations.

With this new partnership, not only will customers earn Stars for every oat latte, iced macchiato, or new Spring Canadian-exclusive Brown Sugar Oat Americano, but they can also earn Aeroplan points with every eligible purchase too.

Starbucks

As soon as you link your Starbucks Rewards and Aeroplan accounts, you'll be able to start collecting rewards right away. For example, you can earn 75 Aeroplan points each time you load or reload $50 to $74.99 on your Starbucks account.

If you like to treat yourself often and tend to load more than $75, you'll double the Aeroplan points to a total of 150.

Anyone who uses the Starbucks app will already know that it's a great way to pay in stores, rack up rewards and order food and drinks for pickup ahead of time.

But if you don't already have the Starbucks app, downloading it now and joining Starbucks Rewards means you'll actually get way more points to start off with.

All new members who link their Starbucks Rewards to an Aeroplan account and make their first purchase using the app within one month of creating the Starbucks Rewards account will earn a one-time bonus of 400 Aeroplan points.

Use them towards future travel (when it's safe, of course), cars, rentals and hotels or head to the Aeroplan eStore to redeem your Aeroplan points for merchandise and gift cards.

And to make things even sweeter, there are a few limited-time additional offers to help you rack up even more Starbucks Stars and Aeroplan points.

Until June 6, you can earn 25 Aeroplan points each week when you make four or more qualifying purchases in a week at participating Starbucks locations in Canada. You can also earn 50 Aeroplan points every time you make two or more Starbucks Rewards redemptions of at least 150 Stars in a calendar month until May 31.

What's even cooler is that linked members can purchase Starbucks Cards for a discounted number of points through the Aeroplan eStore. You can redeem as little as 1,000 Aeroplan points for a $10 Starbucks Card.

This new partnership is the company’s latest effort in its commitment to creating new opportunities for patrons while providing greater convenience and digital customer experience through its user-friendly Starbucks app and loyalty program, Starbucks Rewards.

The company also announced a partnership with TD bank, meaning customers who pay with their TD Aeroplan Visa card will earn 50% more Aeroplan points when they load or reload their Starbucks Card or make purchases at participating stores in Canada for one year effective November 8, 2020.

It's worth noting, though, that Starbucks purchases through Uber Eats are not eligible for bonus Aeroplan points. You'll have to head into the store or use the Starbucks app to order for pickup.

The points or Stars you’ll earn by linking your Starbucks Rewards to your Aeroplan account can help you sip on more free lattes or even save for future travel plans. And who wouldn't want that?
