It’s thriller time! The latest film that you’ll want to add to your watch list is 7500 on Amazon Prime. The trailer for the movie was recently released, and it depicts a nail-biting journey that you don’t want to miss.

The movie follows Tobias, a soft-spoken pilot from America who’s about to embark on a flight from Berlin to Paris.

As they prepare for takeoff, Tobias runs through the pre-flight checklist with his co-pilot Michael and chats with his flight attendant girlfriend, Gökce.

Shortly after they head off into the air, a group of terrorists who are armed with makeshift weapons storm the plane’s cockpit, seriously injuring Michael and wounding Tobias’ arm.

The trailer shows that Tobias is able to fend off his attackers, and afterwards, he contacts ground control to plan an emergency landing. Unfortunately, the terrorists are becoming increasingly angry and even go as far as murdering one of the plane’s passengers.

Tobias is ordered not to let the attackers back into the cockpit, but they threaten to take more innocent lives (including that of his girlfriend) if he doesn’t, leaving the young pilot to face an excruciating test of strength.

“7500 is the emergency code for an airplane hijacking,” the trailer says, explaining the name of the film.

“But there is no code for what comes next,” it continues.

“They don’t have guns, they don’t have knives. If you work together, you can beat them,” Tobias urges the passengers from the cockpit.

The film initially premiered at Switzerland’s Locarno Film Festival back in 2019. It received a critic score of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, although it has yet to be ranked by audiences.

7500 stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer), Carlo Kitzlinger (Berlin, I Love You), Aylin Tezel (Macho Man), Omid Memar (Famous Five 4), and Murathan Muslu (Cracks in Concrete), among others.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the film was acquired by Amazon Studios at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and is set to hit the streaming service later this month.

Prime Video has an impressive lineup scheduled for the coming weeks, with films like Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood, and Gemini Man making their way onto the platform.

7500 is set to premiere on June 19. You can check out the thrilling trailer for the film below.
