On Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked readers to share Canada's best summer beach towns. This Ontario gem was one of the recommended spots.

Port Elgin is a dreamy small town perched along the shores of Lake Huron.

It's just under 3 hours from Toronto, making it an idyllic spot for a warm-weather getaway.

According to the website, it's "one of Ontario's best kept vacation secrets," and boasts charming streets and stunning lakeside views.

It's home to six gorgeous white sand beaches and a dreamy harbour that will transport you to another world.

The Main Beach presents a long stretch of sandy shore and sparkling waves where you can swim the day away.

Gobles Grove offers "peace and quiet and less activity" with shallow waters to enjoy.

Other beaches include Eidts Grove Beach, Shipley Beach, and Miramichi Bay.

In addition to its beaches, Port Elgin is home to some beautiful trails. Known as "Ontario's hiking heaven," the town has a range of hiking and biking experiences.

You can also enjoy year-round events, the farmers' market and the gorgeous sunsets, which are "some of the most spectacular sunsets in all of Ontario."

The downtown area is lined with quaint local shops, cafes, and restaurants to explore after a day on the beach.

With endless sandy beaches and coastal charm, this beach town is among the best in Canada, according to locals.
