Living in this enchanting Ontario town means waking up to sandy shores and sparkling water every day. If you're looking for a new place to call home, this beachside village is worth checking out.

Recently, we asked readers on Narcity Canada's Facebook page for their recommendations on the best places to live in Ontario. The post received hundreds of comments, and this stunning beach town was one of the spots mentioned.

Port Elgin is a quaint village nestled on the shores of Lake Huron. It boasts a charming main street filled with local boutiques, cozy eateries, and cafes.

Although it's a small town, it’s packed with charm and adventure. With scenic trails, lush parks, bustling markets, and lively festivals, there’s always something to enjoy.

During the warmer months, the town transforms into a waterside oasis with its six white sand beaches.

You could spend your summer days lounging in the sand, splashing through the waves and enjoying "some of the most spectacular sunsets in all of Ontario," according to Visit Port Elgin.

As noted by the Explore the Bruce website, the region offers you the opportunity to "live in a charming community, explore one of a kind landscapes, purchase fresh local food daily, discover local adventures, relax in tranquility, keep the family entertained, greet your friendly neighbors every morning, breathe in the fresh air and fall asleep under stunning starry skies."

Winter in Port Elgin brings lots of snow and chilly temperatures, but the area is home to many cold-weather activities, including ski trails, skating trails and winter camping.

If stunning beaches, white sand shores, and small-town charm sound like your idea of a dream home destination, you may want to check out listings in this locally loved village.
