A Restaurant In Vaughan Was Fined $1,000 After A COVID-19 Outbreak For Not Following Rules

There was a COVID-19 outbreak at Cafe Landwer in Vaughan and the restaurant has now been fined for not following the rules.

As of April 1, York Region Public Health has identified five confirmed and two probable cases among the staff at the restaurant's location at 9340 Bathurst St.

Of the confirmed cases, three are York Region residents, one is a Toronto resident and one is a Simcoe resident and two probable cases are both York Region residents.

After an inspection on March 31, the restaurant was slapped with a $1,000 fine for not having a list of customers for contact tracing and not having a COVID-19 safety plan.

Since the restaurant didn't keep a list, a public notice has been issued and anyone who was there from March 19-24 is asked to isolate for 14 days after their visit and get tested if they have symptoms.
