If you live in your hiking boots, then we know what you're doing next weekend. As someone who loves living outdoors, you know some of the best views come after the hardest climbs. So if you are up for a challenge, we have an adventure for you. The Tent Ridge hike in Alberta takes you to three mountain peaks and gives you glimpses of a dazzling, bright bright blue lake

Tent Ridge Horseshoe Trail is two hours from Calgary, near Canmore. It is a trip you'll be proud to tell all your friends you completed.

But this trek isn't for everyone. Some sections are a bit intense, with scrambles, and rocky ridge walks. It's imperative that you're prepared, especially if you go during the winter.

To help get ready for this local gem, you'll want to practice on some easier routes first.

Tent Ridge is a 10-kilometre loop path that will take you between four and five hours to complete. It is a difficult journey that should only be attempted by well-prepared hikers.

But if you have done some medium to challenging climbs in the past, you should give this one a try. Despite the work involved, it is worth every step.

The entire way, you'll get to enjoy panoramic views of countless mountain peaks. You'll feel like you are on top of the world as you walk along mountain tops to three different summits.

At times you'll follow narrow and rocky routes, which can be a bit terrifying if you are afraid of heights.

Without question, you'll want to have your camera ready. It will feel like every moment there is a new stunning lookout, you'll want to capture.

You will get tons of panoramic views of nearby Spray Lakes, Shark Lake, and Commonwealth Lake and the surrounding peaks.

Our favourite lookout is of the shimmering blue water of Spray Lakes Reservoir with all the towering mountains behind it.

Before you depart your house, make sure to check the status of the trail for your safety.

It is time to start planning with your BFF on trying this loop together. Even if it is too difficult for you at the moment, you can always add it to your bucket list.
