With that addition, the province has seen 576 total variant cases.
Most of that total, 530 cases, come from the B.1.1.7 variant, which was first detected in the U.K.
In addition, 33 cases of the B.1.351 variant, which was first detected in South Africa, have also been reported.
Finally, there have been 13 cases of the newer P1 variant, which was first reported in Brazil.
Beyond the variants of concern, Dr. Bonnie Henry said that British Columbia had documented 550 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.
"Now, with every new person who is vaccinated, we can take comfort in knowing with each immunization, we all benefit - Elders, seniors, families and communities. Let's keep moving forward and doing our part to put COVID-19 behind us," said the health official.
