President Donald Trump has weighed in on Canada's federal election.

He told people who to vote for and said that Canada becoming the 51st state was "MEANT TO BE."

On Monday, April 28, the U.S. president posted on his Truth Social platform about the 2025 federal election.

"Good luck to the Great people of Canada," Trump said.

"Elect the man who has the strength and wisdom to cut your taxes in half, increase your military power, for free, to the highest level in the World, have your Car, Steel, Aluminum, Lumber, Energy, and all other businesses, QUADRUPLE in size, WITH ZERO TARIFFS OR TAXES, if Canada becomes the cherished 51st State of the United States of America."

Trump also said that Canadians should vote for whoever will ensure there is "no more artificially drawn line from many years ago."

"Look how beautiful this land mass would be," the U.S. president continued. "Free access with NO BORDER. ALL POSITIVES WITH NO NEGATIVES. IT WAS MEANT TO BE!"

It seems like Trump has endorsed himself in the 2025 federal election since he's still pushing for Canada to become a part of the U.S.

"America can no longer subsidize Canada with the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars a year that we have been spending in the past. It makes no sense unless Canada is a State," Trump said.

The Liberals, Conservatives, NDP and Greens have promised to stand up to Trump and his tariffs if elected.

Mark Carney's Liberals plan to support Canadian auto workers, diversify Canadian trade and strengthen Canada's food sector.

Pierre Poilievre's Conservatives plan to respond to U.S. tariffs affecting Canada's steel, aluminum and auto sectors.

Jagmeet Singh's NDP plans to protect workers, safeguard jobs, and ensure Canadian families aren't impacted by Trump.

Elizabeth May and Jonathan Pedneault's Greens plan to protect Canadians from the fallout of Trump's tariffs by prioritizing Canadian businesses and infrastructure.
