8 Campsites Near Edmonton That Still Have Spots Available This Summer
You haven't experienced Albertan summers until you've camped out by a beautiful spot in the heart of nature. But since everyone also wants to discover the thrill of camping this time of the year, spots are booking up fast. That's why we've gathered up a list of campsites near Edmonton that you can still reserve for a summer outing this year.
There were so many people that raced to book their spots this year that the provincial booking site actually crashed. But worry not, Alberta is blessed with more than enough campgrounds for your next getaway.
There are between 30 and 40 campgrounds within three hours of Edmonton that have spots available at the time of writing.
So we've gone ahead and picked out some of the best of the bunch for you.
All these campgrounds are available at various windows throughout the summer.
There are a lot of options out there for you. To book reservations, you can go to the Alberta Parks reservation website or call their Contact Centre.
There are a couple of rules, though. Only one household is allowed on each campsite, with no more than six on the site. You can't camp for longer than 16 consecutive nights.
In terms of price, it'll cost you $12 for making a reservation. The camping fees vary by the campsite. Other than that, there's nothing stopping you from an awesome summer adventure.
Cross Lake Provincial Park

Miquelon Lake Provincial Park

Why You Need To Go: This area is massive and filled with stunning hiking trails through the woods. It's also just the spot to be if you want a good old stargazing session.
Beaver Lake Provincial Park

Brazeau Reservoir Provincial Recreational Area

Thunder Lake Provincial Park

Why You Need To Go: This campground comes with a massive sandy beach that'll make you feel like you're in Cabo in the middle of the Alberta. Boating, kayaking, sailing are some of the many water-based activities you can do. Just chilling on the shores and appreciating the water is also an option.
