Other Countries Set To Have COVID-19 Vaccines By December While Canada Could Wait Months

There have been a lot of updates when it comes to a COVID-19 vaccine in Canada, after two potential producers revealed their candidates are proving very promising. But something's still missing. 

On November 23, the federal government declared that it not only has one of the "best vaccine portfolios" of any other country on the planet but that the number of vaccines available will outnumber the Canadian population. But we still don't know when those doses are coming.

As it stands, Canada still does not have a set date for when vaccines will be available for distribution.

In Tuesday's press conference and later in question period, Justin Trudeau did not give a timeline for the coveted vaccines. However, he did say it would be given to Canadians for free. 

Party leaders like Erin O'Toole, Yves Francois Blanchett and Jagmeet Singh all questioned what the hold up is in giving Canadians an answer.

Trudeau addressed the concerns saying that countries like Germany, the U.K. and the U.S. already have set dates for their vaccine rollouts because they are able to manufacture them domestically, which is something Canada does not have the capability to do.

The U.S. and U.K. are expecting their vaccine as early as December, according to CBC News.
