The Ontario Provincial Police is not taking illegal gatherings lightly.

OPP in Wasaga have just announced that extra measures will be to crack down on illegal gatherings and vehicle activity near the beach.

The new directive, called Project Erase, was announced after police had to shut down a massive impromptu car show last weekend.

The event hosted over 500 vehicles in a Cineplex parking lot in Ancaster, Ontario.

Police [...] will specifically target speeding, racing, drifting, take overs, gatherings and illegally modified vehicles.

Police will be stationed at all routes in and out of Wasaga beach to help deter gatherings and reckless driving.

Ontario has been attempting to fight back against dodgy driving for months now. 

Last month in Ottawa, police issued 140 tickets in just one night for driving infractions.
