If you live in the Dundalk Highlands and cottage country area, it's time to pull out a shovel. These spots are expected to see the most amount of accumulation.
However, parts of the GTA aren't in the clear and could still see under 5 centimetres.
Worst yet, a mix of snow and rain is expected to linger into Saturday morning
So, if you plan to travel this weekend, prepare for a slippery and messy commute.
The New Year's forecast isn't all doom and gloom though, in fact, you can expect above seasonal temperatures next week.
Toronto's forecast will see temperatures rising as high as 3 C by next Thursday.
