You can still donate to those in need!

Although Canada's favourite Christmas train won't be steaming across the country this year, you can still enjoy its festivities from the comfort of your couch during their at-home concert airing tonight.

Canadians will not have the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train tradition to look forward to for the first time in over 20 years due to COVID-19.

However, that doesn't mean the party is over. In fact, you can still donate to food banks and still get your holiday shenanigans in with some online fun.

For more than two decades, the Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) has lent a hand to Canadians and even Americans who needed help the most through their Holiday Train program, according to the organization's website.

"In a year full of challenge and loss, we will host this concert as a call to action for the train's supporters to donate generously if they can this Christmas season," CP's President and CEO, Keith Creel said.

"The spirit of the Holiday Train will come alive even though the train itself will not operate due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

This year CP is launching their Holiday Train at Home event for a live concert tonight at 6 p.m.

Donations go to Food Banks Canada and Feeding America.

CP itself will be donating $1.24 million to 201 food banks.

Including this year's donation, the company has donated more than $19 million since 1999.
