We can add watching Toronto's Santa Claus Parade to the laundry list of things that won't be the same this year due to the pandemic.

The annual event is coming back for the 116th year in a row, but not in the way we are used to. In fact, the parade was already pre-tapped at Canada's Wonderland and will be airing tonight at 7 p.m. on CTV.

While we can expect some great talent this year like Dolly Parton, Meghan Trainor and Kelly Clarkson, we can all agree it just won't be the same.

Still, parade fans are being good sports about it and instead took to social media to share some pictures of the holiday tradition as early as last year and as far back as 1930.

This Canadian photographer shared some really magical moments that were up close and personal.

Tim Hortons also joined in on the fun with photos from 2019 when the parade was a 'blast' but the company said they are honoured to be sponsoring this year's festivities too.

Leave it to Toronto Archives to throw it back to previous decades when colour photographs were still a new thing.
