Press Secretary Jen Psaki says the Biden administration will be resuming the process of replacing President Andrew Jackson with another significant historical figure on the $20 bill.

"It's important that our money reflects the history of our country and Harriet Tubman's image gracing the new 20-dollar note would certainly reflect that. Press Secretary Jen Psaki

The plan to put American abolitionist and political activist Harriet Tubman has been around for years now but faced significant setbacks at the hand of the Trump Administration.

The original plan, proposed under the Obama administration, was to unveil the newly designed bill with Tubman's face on it in 2020, but the Trump administration said the reveal had to be delayed until 2028 due to technical issues.

Now the plan to revamp the $20 bill with a new face is back on the table but it is not known when it will be complete and sent into circulation around the United States.

If the plan goes through, Harriet Tubman would become the first African-American woman to appear on American currency.
