I’m Obsessed With These New Jalapeño Crackers & Here’s Why You Should Try Them

Say hello to my new everyday snack.

Reaching for a bite to eat is one of the happiest moments of my day. I'm the kind of snacker that needs something wholesome to get me by, but it has to be tasty.

I've always been a fan of crackers that complement a cheese board or pair well with a good dip — like Triscuit Original Crackers. When introduced to the Triscuit Original Minis Crackers, my fondness quickly became a love affair. I often grab them for the road or as a snack at work.

So, when I heard Triscuit recently launched a zesty jalapeño flavour as part of their already yummy Thin Crisps line, I was excited to do a taste test.

I’m not the biggest fan of spiciness, but in hopes of bringing some fun into my daily snacking routine, I wanted to experiment with the new Triscuit Thin Crisps Zesty Jalapeño flavour crackers.

On-The-Go Munching

On busy days, I grab a wholesome snack to get me through my schedule. So, to put these crackers to the test, I packed some Triscuit Thin Crisps Zesty Jalapeño flavour crackers in addition to my everyday banana and protein shake.

Since I'm used to the taste of Triscuit Original and Minis Original Crackers, which starts with three simple ingredients — whole grain wheat, vegetable oil and sea salt — I questioned how the Triscuit Thin Crisps Zesty Jalapeño flavour crackers would compare.

As it turns out, both Triscuit Original and Zesty Jalapeño Crackers are equally as tasty, and the 24 grams of whole grain wheat in a 30g serving was a plus.

Plus, you can munch on them wherever you are. These spicy snackable bites made my commute home a bit more enjoyable.

Quick Work-From-Home Break

As someone who occasionally works from home, it's not always easy to make time for cooking, but I find I work best when I'm consistent with food. When days get hectic, I usually reach for a tasty snack between meals.

I appreciated how easy it was to munch on these during my busy day. I was worried eating them plain would feel repetitive and bland, but I was pleasantly surprised when I wasn't reaching for some dip to accompany them.

A Night In With Friends

I honestly don't know a better combo than crackers and cheese. Like a true host, I served up the new crackers with other tasty finger foods. Since the jalapeño tang has a cheesy flavour, I figured adding more wouldn't hurt.

They were an instant crowd-pleaser, and the pairings were a hit. And the sweet and savoury combo of the crackers mixed with some berries was surprisingly good.

Next time, the group wants to dip these spicy little crackers in some queso and salsa.

Overall, these are a lovely add-on to a charcuterie board or as an appetizer. And not having to go to great culinary lengths to impress my friends was a bonus.

My Final Thoughts

I was impressed after trying out the new savoury crackers. They're the perfect addition to my daily snacks, keeping both my belly and taste buds happy.

At first I was worried they’d be too spicy, but now I kind of wish they would've had even more of a jalapeño kick. Either way, I'd be lying if I said I didn't already finish an entire box.

Although I did prefer the snack with pals, you can enjoy them any time of the day. I'll probably reach for these whenever I need a little zest — they’ve definitely earned a spot on my grocery list.
