When it comes to COVID-19 vaccines, Sir Ian McKellen is proving he’s not afraid at all!

The Lord of the Rings and X-Men star is the latest celebrity to be pictured getting the U.K.’s COVID-19 vaccine and it appears he was pretty pleased to get it.

In a tweet on December 16, Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) tweeted about the moment the actor received his vaccination.

“Sir Ian McKellen joins the thousands of people who have now safely received the first dose of the COVID vaccine,” wrote the health service.

Sir Ian, who famously plays Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, also tweeted about the experience, saying he felt “very lucky.”

“I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone,” added the English star.

In fact, according to BBC News, he even described his emotions as “euphoric.”

"Anyone who has lived as long as I have is alive because they have had previous vaccinations," the 81-year-old added in an Instagram post.

The U.K. has approved the same COVID-19 vaccine as Canada and is following a similar distribution system by vaccinating seniors and health care workers first.
