The era of President Joe Biden has officially begun, and his presidential social media are going live

Twitter has officially granted him the prestigious title of "@POTUS" and his screen name has changed from President-Elect Joe Biden to President Joe Biden.

The account became active at 12:01 p.m. on Inauguration Day, and the follower count immediately shot all the way up to 1.1 million.

It is not yet known how or if Biden will be rotating between his presidential account and his personal account, @JoeBiden, which has a whopping 24.7 million followers.

Vice President Kamala Harris also received her new Twitter tag, "@VP," and she's already sent out her first tweet as Vice President.

 Twitter is not the first website to recognize Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as president and vice president, as the official White House website now reads "President Joe Biden" and "Vice President Kamala Harris" as well as information on the entire Biden-Harris administration.
