The distribution of vaccines in Ontario continues to roll on, but there's a new person calling the shots at the top.

Ontario's COVID-19 vaccination task force is now being led by Dr. Homer Tien, a trauma surgeon and the CEO of an air ambulance company in Ontario.

The Task Force was previously led by Retired General Rick Hillier, but Doug Ford announced a few weeks ago that the General's contract was expiring and that he was stepping back from leading the team.

Tien — who was also a Colonel in the Canadian Forces Health Services and has been on the Task Force since it began — has been instrumental in distributing vaccines to remote communities in Ontario.

Tien, the CEO of air ambulance non-profit Ornge, is classified as a "part-time" Chair of the Task Force, and his term is set to expire on August 31.
