The early poppy appearance comes as the country gears up for Remembrance Day set for November 11.
"I’ve started wearing my poppy to honour our veterans - and I’m dedicating this digital version to my grandfather Jimmy, who served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. You too can honour those who bravely fought for our country and our values," Trudeau captioned his post.
He also added that Canadians can also get their hands on a customized digital poppy online.
Additionally, he encouraged Canadians to also donate to the Royal Canadian Legion when they come across a poppy box around their neighbourhoods.
