Starbucks Canada Dropped New Dairy-Free Summer Drinks & They're Available Right Now

Cool down and wake up!
Contributor

Canadians looking for more plant-based beverage options just got a few more drinks to choose from. Several new Starbucks non-dairy drinks just dropped, and they're the perfect summer pick-me-up. There's even dairy-free foam!

Customers with allergies, vegan diets, or just a healthy curiosity about dairy alternatives can now indulge in Cold Brew or Nitro Cold Brew, topped with a delicious, cinnamon almond milk foam.

The foam, which is made from almond milk, vanilla syrup and cinnamon, is not only tasty and dairy-free, but it's also only 40 calories.

Even those who are skeptical about how this plant-based topping might differ from the classic foamed milk should be willing to try it.

Starbucks says the new foam is airier than the regular dairy topping, and can also be modified with soy.

The light topping can also be added to other iced coffee drinks to make them a dairy-free option.

These brand-new Cold Brew drinks join the company's growing list of plant-based beverage and food options.

They will be available as part of the new summer drinks menu, which also includes some fruity options such as the Iced Guava Passionfruit and Iced Golden Ginger Drinks.

Starbucks also introduced dairy-free hot beverages earlier this year. Flavours include the Almondmilk Honey Flat White and the Coconut Latte.

For those looking to grab a meat-free bite with their plant-based beverage of choice, Starbucks also created its own take on the Beyond-Meat breakfast sandwich earlier this year.

Canada's growing obsession with plant-based alternatives has prompted the federal government to invest $100 million into the growing field of meat-free and dairy-free products.

Even Tim Hortons has managed to catch on to the trend, by finally adding almond milk to their menu this month.
