Statistics Canada is hiring for new census jobs, and you need to know how to use a computer.

No university degree or college diploma is required for these positions.

Canada's national statistical agency recently put out job postings for Pay Clerks in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec.

Statistics Canada is looking to staff these full-time census positions in the western, central and eastern regions.

If you apply to this job posting but don't get hired, you could be considered for similar positions for the federal census next year.

That could include various administrative positions with similar education and experience requirements.

As a Pay Clerk during the 2026 census, you will:

  • compile, maintain and update records of pay activities in the pay system and generate pay reports
  • review, verify and input employee pay claims in the pay system
  • respond to written and telephone inquiries from employees in consultation with supervisors

These Statistics Canada jobs pay up to $61,761 for the work term.
