On Monday, July 12, Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu announced on social media that she won't be playing in the Tokyo Olympics as planned.

Andreescu's letter-style post was addressed to her "amazing fans." She began by saying "I would like to inform you that I have made the very difficult decision to not play in the Tokyo Olympics later this month."
