Silicone Valley is no longer the king tech town in the country, as Texas has officially taken over.

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) released its list of the top 20 tech towns in 2020, with Austin being number 1 and Dallas being number 2.

This is the second year in a row Austin has landed the first place spot thanks to companies such as IBM, Dell, and Home Depot bringing in thousands of jobs to the area.

Dallas also made a huge statement for itself this year, jumping up to the second-place spot after placing seventh last year.

Companies such as Lockheed Martin, JPMorgan Chase, and USAA along with others offered over 178-thousand jobs over the course of one year.

The median salary for IT pros in Austin posted at a whopping $87,880 a year, while pros in Dallas make even more with an average of $94,044 a year.

Raleigh, North Carolina, San Jose, California, and Charlotte, North Carolina follow Austin and Dallas in the top 5 spots.
