You don't have to go far to get Grand Canyon views! The Pacific Northwest has its very own just under a four-hour drive from Seattle. Palouse Falls State Park in Washington is located along the Palouse Scenic Byway, which includes some of the state's most beautiful sights and landscapes.

We strongly advise that before you go swimming or visit any location, you check the most recent updates on potential hazards, security, water quality, and closures. If you do plan to visit a location, respect the environment and obey the local laws.

Western Washington is known for its lush greenery, mountain ranges, and bodies of water, but when you head over to the eastern part of the state, it seems like you've stepped into another world.

Palouse Falls is the "Official Waterfall" of the state and is a remnant of the ice-age floods.

It drops from a height of 198 feet with the highest volumes of water flowing in the spring and early summer.

To explore the park, you'll need a Discover Pass, which is $10 a day or $30 for an annual pass.

You can also bring your pup along with you, you'll just need to keep them on a leash!

If you're looking for a hike around the park itself, Palouse Falls won't be so challenging.

It's easy to get around and is one-mile roundtrip, so a day excursion might be perfect for enjoying the outdoors and views.

Pack a picnic to enjoy bird and wildlife watching as well as waterfall viewing.

You can choose your own adventure by visiting the three different viewpoints. They offer varying sights of the falls, but the Fryxell Overlook might just top the list.

Here, you'll find panoramic views of the falls and the canyon below.

So pack a camera, a good picnic, and even better company to enjoy a beautiful day out in one of Washington's most beautiful state parks.
