If you're wondering which items are the best and what go-to orders are for someone who worked there, here's what you need to know!
Narcity recently posted a callout on Instagram and asked current and former employees of Canada's biggest retailers to share their experiences.
We talked to ex-Tim Hortons employees Nikunj T.* and Amber K.* about the most popular orders, the best menu items, and more.
Nikunj, who worked in Tim Hortons restaurants for a few years, revealed what the most popular items are at the Canadian chain.
"Double double coffee is probably the most iconic order, it's practically part of Canadian culture," he said.
This former employee also noted that Timbits are one of the most ordered items at Tims.
"The Iced Capp is another all-time favourite, especially in the summer," Nikunj said.
Narcity also asked Nikunj and Amber what the best Tim Hortons menu items are in their opinion.
"The classics always win," Amber said.
For this ex-Tim Hortons employee, the peach quencher is a favourite because "it's refreshing and not too sweet."
"The honey cruller donut is another go-to," Amber said. "And of course, their hot chocolate. It's nostalgic and comforting, especially in the winter."
"The steeped tea and the French Vanilla are classics that never disappoint," Nikunj told Narcity.
When it comes to food, the Farmer's Breakfast Wrap is a standout menu item, according to Nikunj.
A box of Timbits is also a "must."
When asked what they always ordered when they worked at Tim Hortons, both Nikunj and Amber gave a few items from the Tims menu.
"I usually grabbed a coffee paired with a bagel," Nikunj said. "The everything bagel toasted with herb and garlic cream cheese, crispy onions, and hashbrown in the bagel was my go-to."
Also, Nikunj recommended the old fashioned plain donut, which was the "top choice" for a Tim Hortons treat.
"When I worked there, one of my absolute favourites was the chicken salad croissant. It was this creamy mix of chicken, mayo, and veggies with lettuce and tomato," Amber said.
"If you knew the hack, you'd add bacon to make it even better."
This former Tim Hortons employee also recommended BLTs.
Amber shared that an "employee hack" was to make a breakfast sandwich by cutting donuts in half and putting strips of bacon in the middle.
"Definitely one of the tastiest experiments," Amber said.
