This Colourful Ontario Garden Is Like Walking Through A Whimsical Paradise
Time to tiptoe through the tulips. If your afternoon walking route has gotten a little dull lately, then you need to explore this whimsical Ontario public garden. With beautiful blooms, water fountains, and tranquil ponds, this spot will add a much-needed splash of colour to your day.
There’s an abundance of peaceful walking trails outside of Toronto for you to explore.
But, this gorgeous garden in Oakville, Ont. is one of the most scenic walking areas you can find.
Gairloch Gardens is situated along the shores of Lake Ontario and features a variety of flowers and greenery that give the area a serious fairy tale vibe.
An impressive water fountain and charming footbridge only add to the cuteness.
If you’re lucky, you might see turtles and frogs frolicking in the pond.
You’ll also find some stunning artwork in the gardens at the Oakville Galleries which are located on-site.
The garden, no surprise, is a hot spot for photography as well.
And honestly, if the root-covered archways don’t make you want to immediately stop, drop, and selfie, then we don’t know what will.
A walking path lines the lake and it’s the perfect place to get back in touch with nature.
Originally, this garden was part of 400 acres of farmland that belonged to a Toronto civil engineer in 1922.
“He then landscaped the grounds with hedges, trees and rose gardens and built a Tudor style house on the south-east of the property,” reads a blurb on the garden’s website.
If being by the water is key for you, then don't forget to visit these wonderful waterfront trails just outside of the 6ix as well.
And if you've been dreaming of tropical vacations, be sure to visit the sandy shores of this Ontario beach.
But if all that your heart desires is a wander through a gorgeous garden of colour, this is the place for you.
