Ford Says Certain Teachers Will Be Able To Get A COVID-19 Vaccine Over The April Break

Ontario is starting with hot-spot regions.

Premier Doug Ford announced today that some teachers in Ontario will be eligible for vaccinations over spring break, the week of April 12. 

The news comes alongside the government's declaration of a third provincial emergency on Wednesday, which includes a stay-at-home order.

The government said that education workers who support students with special education needs across the province will be eligible for a vaccine. 

Education workers in high-risk neighbourhoods in Toronto and Peel will also be eligible. 

Ford also added that teachers in hot-spot regions including York, Ottawa, Hamilton, Halton and Durham would be next in line to receive the vaccine.
