Toronto's weather forecast broke a new record on Friday.

As Ontario experiences a "February thaw," Toronto is seeing temperatures that typically don't come around until spring.

The Weather Network says cooler temps will be back soon, so enjoy the warm weather while it's around.

On Friday, CTV reported that Toronto broke an 86-year-old weather record once temperatures at Toronto Pearson International Airport hit 11.4 degrees, breaking the previous record of 10.6 degrees.

According to TWN, southern Ontario will see temperatures soar to more than 15 degrees "above normal" in some spots.

"Regardless of whether or not any temperature records are broken, Friday will see the first time since Dec. 15 that temperatures in Toronto have reached double digits," the network added.

Temperatures could keep climbing in the city, upwards of 12 or 13 degrees around the Greater Toronto Area.

With the high temperatures in the forecast, Toronto's Pearson International Airport highlighted just how much snow the area has seen throughout the winter, and how big of a drop it is to last year.

"We have only seen 40.4 cm of snow this winter – about 34 cm less compared to the same time period last year," the airport tweeted on Friday.

The Weather Network advises people to get out and enjoy the warm weather on Friday before temperatures fall back from "their lofty highs" by Saturday.

Saturday could see scattered showers throughout the day. However, above seasonal conditions are still expected for the day with a high of 10 degrees.

TWN adds that despite the warm-up in Ontario, a "major pattern change will develop next week as temperatures trend colder."

Those temperatures are expected to drop to 3 degrees by Sunday and there is snow in the forecast by the end of next week.
