Toronto's weather forecast broke another record on Monday.

The city just went through the warmest February on record, and it looks like March is off to a similar start.

On Monday, Environment Canada recorded a high of 15.9 degrees at Toronto Pearson International Airport as of 4 p.m. EST.

That broke a 50-year-old weather record that was last set on March 4, 1974 with a high of 13.3 degrees.

March is off to a warm start, following a record-breaking February.

The Weather Network reports Toronto saw the "warmest February on record."

In a release on March 2, TWN said Toronto saw 22 days of above normal temps in February.

"Toronto typically goes an entire February without notching a daytime high of 10 [degrees] or warmer. This year, though, Pearson Airport saw seven days with highs in the teens," the TWN reported.

The outlet also noted that February 28 was the airport's second-warmest February day ever recorded with the temperature reaching 16.5 degrees that day.

"The drumbeat of warm temperature records is also a glaring example of our changing climate. Sea surface temperatures are running at summertime levels across much of the Atlantic Ocean," TWN said.

With spring weather coming early, TWN reports it's a "preview of what is to come." That means Ontario is expected to see warmer-than-normal temperatures throughout spring, which officially begins on March 19, 2024.

The weather authority adds that the warm weather the province has been experiencing does mean that blossoms will be coming out ahead of schedule.

However, this doesn't mean that Ontario won't be dealing with any more cold days. There is still a likelihood of periods of colder-than-normal temperatures and a "risk for significant late-winter-like weather."

As for the rest of the week, Toronto will see warm temperatures on Tuesday and Environment Canada shows a high of 17 degrees is expected.

Temperatures will dip in the city by Wednesday with a high of 7 degrees and hover around there for a few days. By March 10, the temps will drop even more to 3 degrees and Toronto could see rain or snow.
