Toronto Raptors fan wins season tickets after draining ridiculous half-court shot

Nothing but net! 🏀🗑️🔥

A Toronto Raptors fan became a season ticket holder following a ridiculous half-court shot at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday night.

When we think of some of the most clutch shots made in Raptors' history, we think of Kawhi Leonard's game-winning buzzer-beater against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 of the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals, Kyle Lowry's half-court heave against the Miami Heat in the 2016 Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, and O.G. Anunoby's game-winning 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds left against the Boston Celtics in the 2020 COVID bubble.

But another shot has a good claim to make this list following Liam Rodrigues' stunning half-court effort at half-time in the final home game of the Raptors' 2024/25 season. The Mississauga native won season tickets for the 2025/26 campaign, courtesy of Tangerine, for draining the shot that incited wild celebrations from the crowd.

Adding to the good vibes at Scotiabank Arena, last night, the city's sports scene witnessed a rare occurrence: the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays, and Raptors all won.

The Leafs, who have already clinched their NHL Playoff spot, defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning thanks to a Matthew Knies overtime goal. Knies scored a hat-trick in a 4-3 win. Could it be their year?

It's a great week to be a Blue Jays supporter. Not only have they locked up Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to a 14-year extension, but they sit top of the MLB's American League East with an 8-5 record after beating the Boston Red Sox 2-1 at Fenway Park.

While there have been some bright sparks, the Raptors have had a largely forgettable season. Currently sitting on a 30-50 record, they have finished the season on a high with a 126-90 win over the Charlotte Hornets.

Just maybe, if the Raptors want to start challenging for the NBA Playoffs, they need to forget about this Cooper Flagg dude and sign Liam Rodrigues!

You can watch the full video of Liam's spectacular shot here. That swish sound is beautiful, isn't it?
