Whether it's the booming tech scene or the city's position as a financial hub, Toronto is proving to be a magnet for the seriously rich.

The latest figures from the World's Wealthiest Cities Report for 2025, released on Tuesday, April 8, show that Toronto remains the undisputed king of Canadian wealth.

The new report from Henley & Partners looks at where the world's ultra-rich are living, including millionaires, billionaires and a fast-growing category of elite earners known as "centi-millionaires" — people with at least $100 million in investable assets.

Toronto placed 18th in the Top 50 Cities for Millionaires this year, with 184 "centis," beating out the other three Canadian cities — Calgary (26), Montreal (32) and Vancouver (90).

If that didn't already make you feel broke, Toronto also has 108,400 millionaires living in the city, which is more than high-profile cities such as Melbourne, Houston, Dubai, and Dallas.

There are 20 billionaires in The 6ix, too — the same number as Dubai — and more than hotspots like Tokyo, Milan, and Miami.

Despite being at the top of the pile, Toronto will be looking in the rearview mirror as compatriots are making up ground. Toronto had an 18% millionaire growth from 2014-2024, whereas Calgary and Vancouver saw 55% and 52% increases, respectively.

The report remarks that the Start-up Visa Program in Canada has helped people worldwide access Toronto as a hub.

So, even if you're not swimming in cash, it's pretty wild to think about the kind of money flowing through our streets. Whether you like it or not, it looks like Toronto's financial elite are firmly putting Canada on the global wealth map.
