If you develop any COVID-19 symptoms, even if it's just one, you now won't be able to go to class.

The City announced on Friday that they will be enhancing their COVID-19 screening protocols for Toronto students.

According to a press release, the move comes to help further protect classrooms during Toronto's lockdown

The updated screening tool includes a new requirement that if a student has even one COVID-19 symptom, they must stay home, self-isolate and get tested. City of Toronto

If a student has any COVID-19 symptoms, they will not be allowed to come into school.

Instead, they will have to self-isolate and get a COVID-19 test.

On top of that, any siblings will also be forced to stay home as well, even if they do not have any symptoms.

If a COVID-19 test isn't taken, the City of Toronto states that the student must stay home for 10 days.

"This new screening tool will provide staff, students and our overall community with additional layers of protection to help keep our schools open and our city safer as we as we continue living with COVID-19,” states Dr. Vinita Dubey, the associate medical officer of health at Toronto Public Health.

The City is also reminding adults to stay home if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
