Scotiabank Is Giving $1,000 To Lucky Fans Every Time The Leafs Score This Season

Fulfill your financial goals!

It all starts with the sound of skates carving the ice, followed by the whoosh of the skater evading defender after defender. Suddenly, there's the whip of the hockey stick as it connects with the puck, and then echoing silence as the latter travels through the air, glides past the goalie in his last-ditch effort to save the shot, and finally hits the back of the net.

And all those sounds lead to the most euphoric noise of all: the horn blaring as the Toronto Maple Leafs score. For fans, there's just nothing like the feeling of your team scoring a goal. It's not just that you're winning; it's that you can tease all of your friends who doubted you and your team.

To be honest, it can feel like winning a thousand bucks, and for several lucky fans, that's literally what it's going to be like. Because this year there is a chance you can win $1,000 every time the Toronto Maple Leafs score a goal this season.

It's part of the Scotiabank's Goals for Goals program*, developed in collaboration with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) and it's super easy to get involved.

To enter, just go to the Goals for Goals website or the Toronto Maple Leafs app and submit your financial goals. These can literally be anything from your ambitions to buy a house to your desire to save for retirement or something in between.

After you input your financial goals, that's it. There are no super long forms to fill out, which means you can get back to the important things in life (like watching the Leafs game).

This initiative by Scotiabank is just another way that the financial institution is helping Canadians reach their money goals by planning for their financial future. They also launched ScotiaAdvice+ in September 2020, offering Canadians money tips to make the most of their earnings.

Applications for this program can be submitted until the end of the 2020-2021 season, and then a random draw will choose the winners. So keep your fingers crossed the next time you hear those tell-tale sounds of hockey excellence because the Maple Leafs won't be the only ones celebrating when they score.
