Two BC Paramedics Who Made A Patient Crawl On The Ground Are Now Fired
After an incident last fall, two Vancouver paramedics have been fired after allowing a patient to crawl and not offering help even though they had said they were in intense pain.
In a ruling on July 3, the court agreed with B.C. Emergency Health Service's decision to fire the paramedics, after reviewing their actions when responding to a call on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

According to video evidence provided to the court, their patient was seen crawling down the hall of their tenth-floor apartment's building while the paramedics walked behind him.
He was eventually taken to the hospital, where he got diagnosed with sepsis, spent three days in intensive care, and remained in care for three months.
The patient used to have a "deep respect" for paramedics — now he's afraid to call 911 for assistance.
