This dreamy winter wonderland village with Canada's top resort is close to Vancouver

A two hour drive will transport you to another world.

In under two hours, you can escape Vancouver and be wandering the streets of this wintry small town, surrounded by snowy peaks.

The picturesque streets of the village here are lined with shops, restaurants, and twinkling lights that will make you feel like you're in a Swiss Village instead of Canada.

Whistler is known for its skiing, but a weekend getaway here offers a lot more than the slopes. Recently the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler was recognized by Condé Nast Traveler's Reader's Choice Awards for 2024, and landed first place on the list of the best Canadian resorts.

With a high score of 99.67, the Whistler getaway beat out Fairmont Tremblant, Fairmont Chateau Whistler, Cabot Cape Breton, and other stunning getaways across the country.

Whistler was clearly a favourite among readers because there are four resorts on the list of ten, that are set in the B.C. ski town.

The luxurious resort is right at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, giving you access to Whistler Village and the slopes while being away from the hustle and bustle so you can enjoy some peace and quiet.

Think cozy log cabin vibes, but very elevated. Wood and stone are all around there, making you want to spend the day curled up by the fireplace, looking out the window at the snowy peaks. Rooms have their own fireplaces and balconies where you can soak in the mountainscape.

Then there's the outdoor pool where you can stay toasty and soak up the great outdoors.

After enjoying the resort to the fullest you can wander around town, and explore the nearby trails, lakes and snowy settings. This place is a real-life storybook winter getaway, and definitely one to add to the bucketlist.
