If you're already planning your New Year getaway after the holiday rush, then this small town in B.C. might be the spot. Ranked as one of the best places to visit in January 2025, this village has everything you could want out of a winter vacation.

U.S. News released a ranking of Best Places to Visit in January 2025, crafting the list based on a scoring system that considers the season, affordability, and distinctions. From beach getaways to European trips, the list has a little bit of everything.

Whistler scored 11th on the ranking, dubbed a "winter wonderland," thanks to its premium skiing, and magical beauty.

Just an hour and a half away from Vancouver, Whistler offers the perfect mountain retreat. Head out onto the hill or wander around the charming village with shops and restaurants.

You can also wind down at the thermal spa here, which is tucked away in the forest.

After a day spent enjoying the outdoors and soaking up the stunning scenery, you can hit up the après-ski scene, which the village is known for.

There are also lots of award-winning cozy accommodations here to check out, like Nita Lake Lodge or the Four Seasons Whisler.
