Wandering around the cobblestone streets of a tiny ski town, with snow gently falling and twinkling lights glowing all around, can make the season storybook magical. It's a scene you'll get to experience at this ski town in B.C., which was recently named among the most festive ski resorts in the world.

Whistler is well-known among Canadians and globally, for its top-tier skiing, beauty, and easy access from the big city of Vancouver.

The Travel and Leisure ranking listed 11 destinations "where the holiday season meets pristine powder," for people to explore this winter. Whistler Blackcomb came in at #10 and was the only Canadian destination to make the cut.

"Whistler Blackcomb's cold weather and snowy conditions make for an ideal holiday season getaway. At the resort, visitors can watch (or participate in) the ice skating at Olympic Plaza, shop the Arts Whistler market, and take part in the annual Dress Like Santa Day, where skiers and snowboarders are invited to — as the name suggests — dress up as Santa for a chance to win prizes on the slopes," the ranking said.

On top of the activities that seem like they're plucked out of a Hallmark holiday plotline, there are also incredible restaurants, shopping, and stunning nature all around to explore.

If you're not up for hitting the slopes you can spend the day at the thermal spa here, Scandinave Spa Whistler, which is set back in the forest.

Just roaming around the streets of Whistler Village will have you feeling festive though. There's always lots going on, from people enjoying apres on a heated patio to events popping up. If you want a getaway that'll get you into the holiday mood, this is it.
