It's the time of the year when the city feels like it's coming alive in the most magical way. Christmas markets, holiday shopping, twinkle lights everywhere.

This small town less than an hour from Vancouver takes the holiday charm up a level though, with streets that belong in a Hallmark movie, cozy cafes and bookstores, and holiday activity galore.

Fort Langley is a charming little village, with a Community Hall all decked out for the season, art galleries, and lots of shops to pop into.

It's far from a sleepy small town though, because days here during the holiday season are packed. You can start your day by wandering around Fort Langley and checking out the local storefronts.

Wendel's Bookstore and Cafe is a go-to here thanks to its cozy vibes.

Langley — the small city that Fort Langley is in — has events that run throughout the season and will get you in the Christmas mood.

Merry and Bright at Martini Town is a must-stop while in the area. It's actually a fake town used as a set for shows and movies, that opens up to the public during the holidays. It feels like stepping into New York at Christmas there, with Brownstone streets and all.

There's also Glow Langley where you can stroll through the enchanted forest with over a million lights illuminating it.

If you need a little extra holiday magic in your life, you know where to go.
