The fastest mountain coaster in Canada is set to open in Metro Vancouver this weekend.

The 1.7-kilometre ride starts at the top of a mountain and takes you on an exciting journey as it weaves you through various twists and turns, while also offering breathtaking views of the city.

Tickets are on sale now for this fun ride so it's time to start planning your visit.

The Eagle Coaster is one of the best summer activities at Cypress Mountain and starting June 8 you can check it out for yourself.

The mountain coaster starts at the top of Black Mountain and spans over 1,700 metres with a vertical drop of 279 metres.

"Brace yourself for a gravity-fueled escapade that twists and turns, providing an adrenaline-pumping experience like no other," the Cypress Mountain description of the Eagle Coaster reads.

The Eagle Coaster at Cypress Mountain is back starting June 8, 2024. $35 for one ride, $53 for two rides. You take a chairlift to the top & there’s usually a line - try to go during non-peak times or during the week if you can. I LOVE this ride, footage is from a couple years ago, get the souvenir photo at the end! 📍Cypress Mountain, West Vancouver #mountaincoaster #vancouver #cypressmountain #westvancouver

If you don't like fast rides, don't worry, because you can control your speed on the coaster by using a handbrake.

For thrill-seekers who want to go at max speed, this ride travels up to 40 kilometres per hour as you wind around the mountain and take in the stunning views.

Tickets start at $35 for an adult. You can select a date and time when purchasing your ticket online.

The Eagle Coaster will be open on June 8 and 9 and the following weekend on June 15 and 16 before it opens for daily rides.

Once you're done with the ride, there are lots of other fun activities you can check out at Cypress Mountain, including hiking, geocaching, taking a scenic ride on Eagle Quad Chair and axe throwing.
