SkyTrain service in Metro Vancouver has been disrupted after a fire near a station in Burnaby, B.C.

TransLink says in a release that the fire happened near the Gilmore station, resulting in the shutdown of the station as well as the nearby Rupert and Brentwood stations.

Bus bridge services have been set up in both directions while the Millennium Line route has been closed, although the Canada and Expo lines are not affected.

TransLink says it is investigating the SkyTrain infrastructure affected by the fire to make sure Gilmore station and the tracks are in safe operating condition before services are restored.

Videos on social media show a large fire under the station's elevated platform that generated heavy smoke inside the station.
