The Victoria Day long weekend is approaching and it looks like Ontario's weather is going to be favourable for outdoor activities.

Here's what you can expect for the so-called May 24 long weekend, which actually takes place from May 18 to 20 this year.

"Southern Ontario and Quebec will see typical May-like temperatures over the long weekend, with temperatures only getting warmer the farther north you go," says The Weather Network. "It is very likely folks will see temperatures reach into the 20s."

That being said, it looks like the 401 corridor might get a little wet.

"Rain showers are possible over the weekend, but it will by no means be a washout," they advise. "Just be sure to have an umbrella and be flexible with your plans."

For Eastern Ontario, the temperature for Saturday is forecasted to be 22 C, Sunday to be 23 C and the holiday Monday to be 24 C.

The seasonable weather is going to stick around past the weekend with temperatures going above 20 C until at least May 22 in Eastern Ontario, TWN explains.

"Elsewhere in Ontario, southwestern sections and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will be around seasonal during this time period, but not quite as warm as eastern locales," they say.

Make sure you have some sunscreen!
