An Australia and New Zealand travel bubble will launch on April 19 that will allow residents to travel between the two nations without spending any time in quarantine.

New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern said "The Trans-Tasman travel bubble represents a start of a new chapter in our COVID response and recovery, one that people have worked so hard at," according to CBC News

BBC News has reported that anyone with cold or flu symptoms won't be allowed to cross borders and everyone must wear masks while they're travelling.

There's a chance that the bubble could change in the case of an outbreak, but Ardern said that New Zealand will be treating cases in Australia as if they were their own and adjusting accordingly.

"That makes New Zealand and Australia relatively unique. I know family, friends and significant parts of our economy will welcome it, as I know I certainly do," said Ardern.
