On Tuesday, May 25, officials revealed the B.C. reopening plan and announced that the province is officially moving into the first step. Provincial officials said they feel confident to cautiously move into Step 1 because 60% of eligible British Columbians have received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, case numbers are stable, and hospitalizations are also stable.

As we move into Step 1, you will now be able to have up to five visitors or one household in your home. Outdoor gatherings can have up to 10 people.

In regards to organized gatherings, 10 people can be indoors at seated gatherings and up to 50 people can be outdoors at seated gatherings.

Travel restrictions will remain the same for now, with recreational travel limited to your public health zone. Low-intensity indoor fitness classes will be allowed to resume, as will outdoor local team games and practices without spectators.

Indoor and outdoor dining can resume with tables of up to six people allowed. Liquor service can go until 10 p.m. and WorkSafeBC plans will still be in place. The gradual return to workplaces and offices can begin as well.
