Government Of Canada

If you have ever been curious about the French population in Canada, this interactive map shows each province and territory's "francophonie." According to 2011 government data, 10 million people in Canada say they can speak French.

Outside of Quebec, Ontario has the largest French-speaking community in Canada with 600,000 francophones. They are said to be strongly present in Ottawa, as well as Sudbury and other northern regions.

B.C., according to the map, has over 70,000 French speakers. However, Nunavut has the smallest French-speaking population, with about 500 people who can speak the language.
